Do you think that being sensitive is a strength or a weakness?

I think it’s a weakness because most people who are not sensitive succeed better. They don’t care much and they just keep doing the things they want to do in life. I think if you are sensitive, then you want to help people, you care about people, you are sensitive to the poor, you are sensitive to what you see around you.  When you are not sensitive, you don’t see any of that stuff.

I used to work in a restaurant and I used to always worry about the bus boys. The bus boss not being treated as the waiters are. You know and the waiters are not being treated as well as the boss is. You know so I was feeling sensitive to that I don’t know why. But not being sensitive, you don’t get distracted; you don’t see all the stuff your not supposed to see. You don’t see all the things that are in front of you. My boss that I used to work with, said hey don’t pay attention to that, you just pay attention to making money.

So you are saying that you care, but you don’t let it distract you

Yes, I do care but I don’t let it distract me so much anymore.

  1. Interesting comments and I can relate. I am a sensitive person and I express my feelings. The good, bad and ugly! However I have run up against people who are frightened, put off or just don’t understand that emotions , when expressed as a personal emotion, doesn’t hurt anyone, In fact, it can help heal the person expressing them. It helps me, when verbalized, understand myself better and leaves room for compassion. I continue to be who i am and hope that my friends accept me for who I am.
